Well hello beautiful 2015! I've been delaying this very first post of 2015 for close to two week now, and an hour ago while pondering about life in the shower, I told myself since I've already started, I must have an end to it.
And not leave it as another draft post, as the many I had tucked in quietly in the long lists of my blog postings.
And so the adventure begins. The start of 2015, had been incredible. I was opened up to so many new experiences! And this, my friend, is only the third week of January. I can foresee, so much more incredible things that would happen in this last year of mine in Sunway University.
Yes, I'm graduating!
So, when I got back from my two weeks of holiday in the Land of Down Under - Australia, I got myself straight back into handling the January Intake Orientation ice breaking activities. I was also, for the first time ever, emceeing for a crowd of 400 freshies!
I'm not really a stage-fright person, but barely even got over Aussie, and I'm back in Malaysia speaking to a bunch of new, and possibly nervous, or excited or both, students. Which was of course, a really amazing experience!
Yep. That's tiny me, behind the podium.
And few days after, we successfully got onto the confessions page! YAY. You would know, any events that get mentioned on confessions page - I meant those that highlights positive publicity, that is sorta how we leverage if we did a good job or not.
That tiny girl with spectacles who gave her speech? Yes, that's me.
Orientation was on Wednesday, and that left me two days until Bryan's 21st birthday. Therefore, for the entire week I was running up and down and all around.. to buy gifts! My plan was actually to get him 21 gifts, which would fulfill a list of things that he needs, wants or likes, and that also includes 2 surprises - me, and a special place that I was driving him to :)
So, I was up real early, by around 6.30am, and drove over to campus to prepare, cause I hid the huge gift box in my office. I told Bryan that I'm supposed to pick him up by 10am, and he should wake up by 9.30am. And my plan was, to secretly sneak into his room at least by 9am and be his real life alarm clock!
But I didn't know that wrapping gifts were such a pain in the ass, or I guess I just don't have the talent for it perhaps. At the end I ran out of time to wrap the large box, and I just used masking tapes and rolled a few rounds around the box, and I dashed over to his place.
Shenn and Leo, are people that I really, really have to thank for helping me with this secret mission.
Shenn took me into Lagoon View, the condo that Bryan lives in. Usually a memo is needed to enter, but I don't know why but everything just went on so smoothly that day. We passed through the guard, smiled and waved (like the Penguins from Madagascar!) and got to the lift.
And with such luck again, someone was going up to the 23rd floor, and I pressed 22nd floor. At that point of time, I nearly forgot which floor he stays in. And my heart was beating so loud I thought everyone in the lift could have heard it.
I stood in front of his unit's door, rummaged over Leo's shoes a little, cause he hid his keys inside it, hugged Shenn, tiptoed across his unit, unlocked the door to his room, and BAM, there I was. Finally!
I was trying my very, very best to be as quiet as I can, but Bryan was honestly sleeping soundly like a baby, absolutely oblivious of my existence. I swear if I were a robber that sneaked into his room, he definitely would not realized even after I stole his entire wardrobe and ran away! I went to this tiny corner beside his wardrobe, which was covered with dust, and sat there awaiting for his alarm to ring.
FIRST RING. He snoozed his alarm clock. Then, I messaged him - I just left my house and was on my way, he didn't move an inch. And then I got impatient, so I got out from my hidden spot, went over to the side of his bed. When I was about to give him a gentle surprise.. his alarm clock rang and I just sprang on him - SURPRISE! And, he sure was surprised I can assured you. To the point where I thought he was going to have a permanent trauma, and was experiencing an actual heart attack. But it was so, so, sooo, hilarious. Now baby, that was for all those millions, billions times you scared me.
After he showered and got ready, I drove him to this slightly outskirt place, and it turned out to be a Petting Zoo called Farm in the City! Absolutely something that he didn't expected, at all. There were so many adorable animals, Prairie dogs, guinea pigs, bunnies, lots and lots birdies, and pretty scary ones too, like the gigantic python.
The place looked a little run down and some of the animals looked like they did not really gotten taken care of well, with dirty or messy body furs. But I would assumed that they are self-funded and it must be tough sustaining the place, with the amount of animals they are having. I gotten a little worried at the beginning, cause' Bryan did not seem happy when he got it, could have been the cages that some of the animals were in, or I don't know, the weather. (heh)
But then, it slowly gotten better, and we agreed that it definitely was a very extraordinary dating spot! We were starving after that, drove back to Sunway, and had lunch at Underground Societe.
And then after a filling lunch and Nutella cake as, appetizer, funny sayin' that cause cakes usually serve as desserts, we got back to his place where he found the huge gift box underneath his bed! Then we moved onto, GIFT UNWRAPPING TIME, YAYH.
I shall not go into details of all the gifts that me and his group of friends got him, cause that would be just way too detailed. I'll just say, he was touched and I would not stop grinning seeing him opening up gifts and gifts and gifts with excitement!
Aite, so I did not expect 90% of this post would be all about Bryan's 21st birthday, and that it turned out to be so long, so I shall end it here, and if time permits, or if I'm not that lazy, I'll share more about my first few weeks of 2015!
Love, sunshine.
