Best I've ever had (part III)

Click HERE to read about my day 1 and 2, and HERE for day 3 to 6 in Korea!

DAY SEVEN, 25 Nov 2010.

We woke up late than usual time, so my stomach was grumbling as we headed for breakfast. Though a night before, some of them complained that today's breakfast, Chinese food, would be way too heavy for breakfast, everyone still, enjoyed the food.

Then, we headed for a short walk by a stream located in the centre of Seoul. It was really chilly, the wind was blowing right at our face!

Next stop was the Ginseng outlet. Sorry to say, but I have zero elaboration for that.

After that, was the KimChi Making Session. That was funny cause' I struggled to make kimchi, and Jimmy teased me, "Oh no, your husband's gonna starve!"

At that place, we too, were dressed up in traditional Korean costumes, no offense really, but we all look like pregnant women. The centre was filled with our laughter.

In the Ice Galleria, we had a competition on making a cup out of a cube of ice. At the beginning, I started off without an idea, so I just chopped and hopefully able to shape out something that make sense. Who knew, slowly, the ice cube was getting smaller and smaller. In the end, I made out nothing. Lol.

Unexpectedly, there were medals for the winner. Bronze goes to uncle Richard, Sliver goes to Aunty Norris and gold - SIMON! Later then, before we took off to another destination, we went to the toilet and unusually saw under the no smoking signboard, Simon's name was on it. Dad joked, "So now Simon you won the first prize, they name the toilet after you."

I left a note outside the ice sculpture exhibition hall. RESTROOM, froze my butt!

After lunch, we headed to the Cosmetic Duty Free Shop. Allysa applies make up very often, therefore she was really excited to get there. For me? Nah!

Then, we took a walk at X street. Jimmy told us that this place is specially for the foreigners. And yeah we were suprised to see black and white skinned people walking around. Aunty Norris bought a packet of sweet potato and shared with us. And we ate it willingly, cause' the potatos were really warm. "In Malaysia they sell sweet potatos you don't eat, but in Korea, you eat!" teased Uncle Richard and we broke into a laughter.

We all enjoyed our last dinner in Korea, barbeque. In fact Simon enjoyed so much, he topped up the meat twice, amazing. He was the last to get in the bus and we teased him, he defended for himself, "No lah, that one's for Ah Ma's one." LMAO! "Finished all then?" "NOT ENOUGH!" He replied.

I laughed so hard until tears were spilling out during the drive to Nanta Show. I requested Jimmy to repeat teaching us the Korean language again, and so he said first time in Korean, we repeat once, and then second time in Korean, we repeat in Malay. "Sarang haeyo!" (i love you) "Saya cinta kamu!" "Oh thank you." LOL

And then he started teaching us our name in Korean language. That was hell funny! I don't really know how to explain this in words exactly. I asked Jimmy what's Gina in Korean language, then Simon cut in, "GINA!" (in cantonese) Everyone started laughing like mad. Including myself. Except Jimmy who doesn't understand.

"What does that means?" Jimmy with a puzzled look on his face.
"Gina means female pig in cantonese." Simon explained.
"OH! So Gina (making his weird kind of accent and the funny expression) how many kids do you have?" Jimmy teased.

I was nearly having difficulties to breath man! Worse still, Jimmy turned around and said, "This is the best thing to do if you wanna act like you're crying." When he turned back at us, his eyes were sticked with two strips of tissue papers. I really wished I had taken that shot! Omg, laugh die me.

"What's your name?" Jimmy pointed at my sister.
"Regini." She replied softly.
"OH! GINI! GENIE!" I guessed the Re he heard was a silent one.
"GENIE IN A BOTTLE!" I started laughing madly.
"I will give you 3 wishes, only 3 wishes." Jimmy said with his weird accent.
"Or maybe GENIE IN A CUP! I'll give you 4 wishes then."

I was coughing and laughing, both at the same time, before I was able to calm myself down, we've reached the theater. My jaws were so tired at that point of time. But guess what? Nanta show's a comedy show, oh no.

There's only one setting for the Nanta show, that is in the kitchen. Nanta actually means Luan Da, or beating in all kind of way. The story's actually revolving around the restaurant's manager's nephew who just started working. And that day, the chefs need to prepare for a wedding dinner by 6 pm. There's running out of time. And worse, they have no idea whether the man can cook or not.

Before the show started, this is hell one different beginning I've ever seen. A slide came down from the stage, and words started appearing on the screen. "Today's our head chef's birthday, let's sing a birthday song for him." The audience actually sang! "Now let me hear you cheer." And we cheered. "Now let me hear you clap." And we clapped. "Now let me hear you cheer and clap." And we cheered and clapped.

How awesome is that? Great way to heat up the crowd!

As the show goes on, I laughed non-stopped. It was completely hilarious. All the sounds were made from banging kitchen utensils, pots and pans, to ... to I-don't-even-know. It's amazing.

Till half of the show. Something unbelievable happened. On the stage, two chefs were having a competition and they had not enough helpers. So they came down to the audience, searching for workers.

Next second, I was on the stage.

I was with the red team. The chef helped me with the hat while asking what's my name and where I am from. Then he taught me what I am suppose to do. This is what laid in my sight, a messy table, lots of flour, the ingredients - carrots and cabbages, and big bowls. So this is what I was suppose to do. Make dumplings!

First, scoop a spoon of ingredients into the slices of ... of urgh-i-don't-know-what's-that-called. Then, squeeze the slices of urgh-i-don't-know-what's-that-called with fingers and put it in a bowl. We need 4 in a bowl. After that, roll the bowls down a slide. When the bowl gets to the end of the slide, another helper will take it.

I know it's hard to understand, but please try to compromise.

I didn't realize at the beginning it was challenge between the blue and red team, until I saw an unknown familiar at another table beside. Then I started to get nervous! "Hurry Regina hurry!" the chef said. At first the dumplings were all nicely done, as the time starts running out fast, we just simply threw the undone dumplings. It was hell funny.

We didn't manage to win! Aww, that's one regret.

But oh well, I got a chef hat and a photo while I was on stage as souvenir. It's a one in a lifetime experience. How many chances do you get to be on the stage huh? I'll tell you, there are really rare.

In the bus heading back to our hotel, Jimmy said, "I was actually sleeping during the show, and then suddenly I woke up and saw GINA on the stage!" He made the funny face and weird accent again. Funny funny guy.

DAY EIGHT, 25 Nov 2010.

I woke up, and first thought in my mind - IT'S THE LAST DAY.

:(

In the bus to our buffet breakfast, Jimmy played a traditional Korean game with us, and it's called three, six, nine. The game's really easy, for every number that has 3, 6 and 9 in it, you clap.

For instant,

A: One
B: Two
C: (shuts up and claps)

And so on, until number 30, it starts all over again.

The winner of the game gets to pick a name, and actually, the one who's name is picked, is only the true winner. The one who wins the amethyst necklace. So, Aunty Lim won the game, and magically, she picked her own name. And got the necklace! We all laughed so hard and blamed Jimmy for cheating :P

We took a walk at Sin Chon street after the breakfast. It was extremely cold, we kept going in to shops not to buy anything but just to keep ourselves warm. Anyways, I still bought a necklace with my initial R on it.

We left to the Amethyst Showroom one hour later. The worker there told us it was going to snow the next day. Aww! That's too bad. If I were to join the 20 November tour, I would have been able to taste the snow with my tongue. But well, still, I rather not.

Then I wouldn't met Jimmy, and Allysa, and Pearline and Michelle and the rest of the humorous aunties and uncles.

At the Amethyst Showroom, I bought a small amethyst phone strap that can be changed to necklace too! It costs only 10000 Won. I hope that didn't freak you, it's only RM30. *winks*

On the way to the Wolmido Gull Ship, I played the fives game with Michelle and Allysa. "Do you guys know how to play the fives game?" Jimmy immediately turned from his seat. "That's a drinking game!" "No, it's an eating game." I was taking a packet of fried shrimp.

After a few games, Michelle surrendered and said she really sucked at it. And so, we started chatting and we talked about movies, Jimmy and Simon joined our conversation too. "I don't like Twilight. I meant seriously, vampires that look like diamond in the sun? Since when they became so expensive and valuable?" Jimmy said, clearly a twilight hater. "I hate his hair!" "I like the most when he's in Harry Potter, Cedric." And from Twilight we drifted off to Harry Potter. "I watched it already!" Simon voiced out suddenly. "It's not really that nice I think, the last part he just rose up the sword and the end!" "HEY! STOP! STOP! Don't tell us!" The girls and I said together. And silly Jimmy kept 'putting spells' on us. Ridiculous! (that's a spell actually) *laughs*

On the ferry, we all fed the seagulls with the super tasty fried shrimp. "Feed me!" shouted Simon. HAHAHAHA Even we couldn't resist man! In the end when all the seagulls flew away, we finished the whole big packet.

And finally the really last stop. Both Allysa and I sighed before we stepped in the souvenir shop. We're really gonna leave Korea.

Finally, we've reached the Incheon Airport. I shook hand with Jimmy at first. Then Jimmy approached the rest of the tourists. Then he turned to me, "I know you want to hug me!" LOL

He came over to Allysa, Pearline and Michelle who's beside me and hugged them. "Why didn't I get a hug?!" I said. "Okay lah." And he gave me a half hug. *winks*

After the plane took off, I waved goodbye to Korea. I really will miss this place, but don't worry I'll be back in no time.

On the 7 hours flight back to tanah airku, I finished watching Eclipse, continued with Letters to Juliet after the tea break. And then, Shrek Forever After. At last after dinner, I finished Despicable Me.

Extremely satisfied.

After reaching KLIA, I was scared that I might not be able to meet them again. But fortunately I did and said a proper goodbye. I hugged Pearline, Michelle and Allysa.

And that's really the end!
